Very intense! - What Lies Beneath Reviews

If you are hungry for an intense, jump-out-of-your-seat movie, than this is the one for you. The only think better than watching this movie for the first time is watching other people watch it for the first time. It isn't technically the best horror film, but it is the best film for thrills. What Lies Beneath more than makes up for a slightly lacking storyline with more than enough scares. Michelle Pfeiffer is very convincing when she acts scared, believe me. The movie is also visually successful. The house Claire (Pfeiffer) lives in is very beautiful and inviting during the day--but during the night, shadows are made longer and spookier and that same house seems very haunting. Overall, however, this movie is made great by the thrills it delivers more so than its technical aspects. I recommend this movie to anyone who has a lot of friends coming over who haven't seen it yet, or anyone who is sitting alone in their house at night. (parents beware: this film will probably be keeping you awake after the movie goes off with the smaller children)
